Otra is a new Liverpool club night curated by Dharma Collective (Melodic Distraction) and RoBaSca (Community Manchester), bringing you globally influenced eclectic dancefloor sounds in an intimate environment.
For their first event they bring NTS breakfast show Host, DJ and Writer, Zakia Sewell.
Having cut her teeth in London’s iconic record shop Honest John’s, sbhe went on to host her weekly ‘Questing’ show on NTS for 5 years and now hosts the esteemed Breakfast slot every Thursday and Friday. She DJ’s regularly at clubs and festivals in the UK and abroad, and has played for esteemed venues and festivals such as Brilliant Corners, Corsica Studios, XOYO, Dimensions and Dekmantel.
Zakia’s sets encapsulate the eclecticism Otra will bring to Liverpool and cover everything from Broken Beat, UK Funky, Garage, and House, to Afrobeat, Latin, Kuduro, Highlife and other far out Worldly Rhythms.
