Ziv Barashi (ZIV) is a 26 year old singer, songwriter, producer and DJ from Jerusalem. Ziv has been making music since the age of 13, starting out as the lead singer and songwriter in an Indie band. She then moved onto her own solo-work, producing and singing her own materials. Having a strong sense of dedication to her own music from early on, Ziv quit high school at the age of 16 to pursue her dream of studying music, which she did at the esteemed Rimon School For Jazz and Modern Music.
As years Passed, Ziv became increasingly inspired by Hip Hop, Electro beats, middle eastern music and after further explorations she found her own sound- an atmospheric compilation of beats, synthesizers, samples and looped musical-phrases. After her debut London show, supporting Homeboy Sandman, Ziv completed a sold-out country -wide tour. Her debut E.P “Smoke To, Make Love To, Fall into” was premiered on Vogue, who declared her as ‘the most sexually liberated voice of 2016׳. In the past years, Ziv has worked with various musicians from around the globe. Her vinyl addiction has made her a known DJ in the Tel Aviv music scene, with a wild and wide range of Reggae, Brazilian, Middle Eastern, Techno, Disco and Ghetto selections.
in 2019 Ziv released another 6 track E.P called ‘Near Mint’ which premiered on XLR8R magazine, followed by her first full L.P ‘Yesh Hamon’ , a Bossa Nova \ Psychedelic album in Hebrew, her mother tongue, which was released and printed on vinyl by Tel avivian label “Holit”.
She is currently working on her next album, as well as her alter ego project, under the name of “Sesame”- a secret rough styled Lo-fi project.
