Plattenschatz im Schattenplatz hosted by Nina Himmelreich is a show highlighting music by local artists from marginalised genders.
With an intersectional approach, the host will be showcasing amazing music from wonderful local talent, while also presenting and discussing ideas, collectives and organisations dealing with the issue of gender inequality in the music scene with a weekly guest.
Your host Nina is a musician, gardener and researcher originally from Germany, who will be starting her PhD on Gender Equality in the German Music Industry at the University of Liverpool in January. Her research interests include all things gender equality and feminism, with a specific focus on initiatives and policies aimed towards overcoming gender inequality in the music/creative sector.
This month, Nina is joined by Katie King – a musician, producer and founder of University of Liverpool’s Women In Music Tech Society. Join them for tunes and chats about gender inequality and diversity in the field of music technology.
