NAM Below: Lotus Panel

NAM is a Manchester-based audiophile listening bar. Their Lotus Panel’s were established as part of NAM’s ongoing commitment as a venue to deliver diverse musical talent to its community, every Thursday is dedicated to platforming womxn in music in the restaurant’s very own basement. 

The Lotus Panels are an event series dedicated to uplifting and supporting talented womxn from Manchester’s music scene and beyond. Broadcasting live from Gottwood, Not Bad For A Girl’s Maracuya sit’s down with Malissa, Miggs & THT GRL. 

Not Bad for a Girl and Pirate resident Maracuya always brings a sense of sensibility and eclecticness to her DJ sets and has created her own signature style, blending influences from around the world. She plays everything from house to amapiano, trance to breaks, UK funky to techno and everything in between. She has held previous residencies on SWU.FM, Subtle and Reform Radio, and has landed guest slots on the likes of BBC Radio 6Music and NTS.

As a member of Manchester’s female and non-binary DJ collective Not Bad for a Girl, she has put on events across the city and runs their record label. Not a stranger to playing out, she has DJ’d in revered venues such as The Golden Pudel in Hamburg, The Pickle Factory in London, and The White Hotel, SOUP and Hidden in Manchester. She has also made her way around the festival circuit, playing festivals including Parklife and El Dorado.

Malissa is a Liverpool-born selector, who has played on a plethora of line-ups across Europe – whether it be alongside Plaid and Kelly Lee Owens in Southbank’s Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, in Germany at Nation of Gondwana festival alongside the likes of Anetha and Freddy K, or warming up at Berlin’s Paloma Bar with Dusk & Blackdown. She was active in 2022, sharing stages with the likes of Mafalda, Skream, CCL and Jerome Hill. With a mix showcased on RA as mix of the Day in April 2023 you can wrap your ears around some of her recent audio journeys.

THT GRL is a member of Not Bad for a Girl & resident of Ghosts of Garage. She is best known for her high energy UKG & DnB sets alongside her seamless blends with disco & breaks. As a solo artist she’s supported an array of artists, notably, Mike Skinner, General Levy, Zero, Girls Don’t Sync, Sammy Virgi, TQD, Interplanetary Criminal and Skream. Playing at legendary venues across the country from Ministry of Sound in London to more local venues in Manchester such as The Warehouse Project, Hidden, and many more. She has featured on line-ups of iconic festivals such as, Parklife, Gottwood, El Dorado and AfterJam as well as making a couple of appearances for RedBull throughout last year. You’d be wise to check out her SoundCloud for her weekly mix series ‘Parked Up’, for established and up and coming artists, providing mixes across the entire genre spectrum and supplying a platform for those artists.
