He started playing professionally at 16 years of age in various bands and has since toured his own music around the U.K, completing his debut solo tour in late 2021. He has self-released two bodies of work so far.
His first album ‘The Demo Tapes’ composed of 8 songs which were recorded acoustically and released in 2018. Based in Liverpool, Blue has had his music featured on Radio City Talk and been reviewed by several local magazines.
Liverpool Noise Magazine wrote: “Mike Blue is quietly carving out a niche as a major song-writing talent in the region – and under the radar. Maybe he likes it like that – just let the music do the talking. And it does. It’s superb.” He has also been featured by Music Republic Magazine as a featured undiscovered artist. He has played in venues across Merseyside; a resident player in several bars where you can find him playing several nights a week.
He has also played several Liverpool based festivals, including: Folk on the Dock Festival, Liverpool Calling, X&Y Festival, Smithdown Road Festival as well as playing in Liverpool’s Echo Auditorium. He is currently embarking on his next full length studio album with the help of his backing and touring band ‘The Ghosts of Santa Monica” which should be completed in early 2023.
