Feedback host Robin Jackson welcomes Rune Lindbaek for an opportunity to play records and discuss the influences, experience and knowledge gained over thirty five years as a DJ and producer in Norway and around Europe.
From the legendary ‘Those Norwegians’ recording outfit to producing with the Nordic disco heroes Todd Terje, Idjut Boys and Lindstrøm, Rune Lindbaek has been a huge influence on the Norwegian deep disco explosion. He joins Robin Jackson in the studio after their Villformorke party at HUS.
Rune has remixed artists such as The Knife, José Gonzalez and Bryan Ferry, and released music with seminal labels such as Smalltown Supersound, R&S and his very own Drum Island Records. With a musical output that ranges from ambient to film music, Lindbaek’s story was documented in the 2017 Ben Davis film, ‘Northern Disco Lights’.
A completely unique DJ style has taken him to 30 countries, having held a monthly residency at Oslo´s legendary basement Nomaden for nine years. 3 Beat’s Robin Jackson, a prolific record collector, broadcaster and DJ launches his brand new Feedback show on Melodic Distraction. With roots across a wide spectrum of respected Liverpool venues, Robin has worked alongside many bands, producers and DJ’s from DJ Harvey, Peanut Butter Wolf and DJ Sneak to Mad Professor, Madlib and DJ Craze.
