It’s Part 1 of Record Store Day today! On 12th June over 200 independent record shops from all across the UK will come together and celebrate new music, boss reissues and loads of exclusive bits released to mark the occasion.
On both parts of this year’s RSD, we’ll be taking the opportunity to showcase the sounds of a handful of our favourite local record stores from across the North West.
For part one, we’ve teamed up with Jacaranda and Dig Vinyl from Liverpool and Piccadilly Records from Manchester, handing over the airwaves for three special RSD broadcasts.
“At Dig Vinyl we believe, as many people do, that every day is Record Store Day. We’re not an official participant in the RSD festivities, and we don’t stock the special releases, but we love vinyl, we love music and we love record shops. For this special RSD show, we celebrate the varied depth of music that can be discovered in your local shop by bringing you an eclectic mix chosen by our staff and owners. Team Dig will soundtrack your RSD with a collection of their favourite tracks that they’ve come across while working in the shop or digging for stock. Enjoy the tunes and support your local record dealer!”
