Dig Vinyl

Tucked away above the hustle & bustle of Bold Street, Liverpool’s Dig Vinyl is renowned for its bursting racks of undiscovered gems, killer classics & guilty pleasures.

The guys and gals behind the counter invite you to tune in and dig deeper with them, as they explore their own collections as well as the sounds that float through their doors & into the crates.

This month, Yvonne invites special guest, local poet Matthew Thomas Smith (Jarg, Psycho Comedy) down to the studio for a musical journey to a place close to both their hearts: New York City. Just over 3,000 miles away but ever present in the minds of Scouse poets, musicians and artists, it’s easy to get lost in NYC even from across the pond. Matthew and Yvonne will wander through the 70s & 80s post-punk and new-wave scene, with a few necessary poetic & political pit stops along the way. First we take Manhattan….

Matthew Thomas Smith’s now sold-out debut poetry collection ‘Songs’ is available to borrow at Liverpool’s Central Library and the National Poetry Library in London. Psycho Comedy’s upcoming album, ‘Performance Space Number One’ will be released 15 February 2020.
