Take a trip underground with ‘Keep It Cryptic’, the scouse secret location warehouse party, record label, and festival stage concept.
Blending the colourful ’summer of love’ sounds of 60s psychedelia and 90s rave, with a healthy dose of jazz, funk, reggae, and hip hop added to the melting pot, Cryptical Listening brings a variety of styles under the same cosmic umbrella – old to new, local to international.
Having aired every first Thursday monthly since 2019, Cryptical Listening seeks to free your mind from the technicality of genre-based pigeon-holes to allow an hour’s-worth of appreciation for music of all cultures, contexts, and colours, which is an ethos clearly expressed through the ‘Keep It Cryptic’ party lineups, bringing guitar-driven bands under the same warehouse roof as techno-slamming DJs. Whether it’s the darker, bass-heavy breaks, or the lighter soulful boom bap, or Turkish folk gems, or acidified disco edits – you can really expect the unexpected here.
Freddie Barker is back on the airwaves, this time with a trance-y progressive house mix!
