The title for the series comes from the French sociologist Émile Durkheim. Durkheim wrote
about “Collective Conscience”, which refers to how we think in common through shared culture.
We draw on his contributions to help make sense of what holds us together, and also, quite importantly, to help us understand the things that divide us, and how we deal with those divisions.
Our third and final episode of this limited edition series is on video games.
We’ve tackled some deep themes like refugee crisis and climate change in our previous shows and thought to end the series with something a bit more light hearted and (dare we say it) fun.
Expect orchestral magnificence and demon-ripping Rock with a hearty dose of nostalgia. Stay on the lookout for a complementary series of written-articles we are writing for MD as part of the “collective conscience” series, relating each concept with its Mental Health aspect.
Finally, thank you for listening!
