Join Cal as he hosts another hour long exploration of contemporary Latin American electronic sounds including new cuts from Joaquin Cornejo, Quixosis, Kaleema, something from QOQEQA’s new album on Dengue Dengue Dengue’s Kebrada label and a couple of tracks taken from the new Movimientos ‘Santuario / Sanctuary’ compilation!
Cal Jader is one of the Latin-beat musical activists behind Movimientos and co-host of one of London’s biggest tropical/global bass parties; Love Carnival.
With his trademark blend of latin beats, carnival rhythms and fresh global sounds, he is helping to soundtrack London’s underground music scene as well as around the UK and Europe. He’s also played at clubs and festivals around the globe as far afield as Mexico City, Beirut, Bogota, Kuala Lumpur, Istanbul, and all around Brazil in Rio, Salvador, Brasilia and at carnival in Recife, as well as closing WOMAD in Fuerteventura.
In the UK he’s played festivals like Bestival and Glastonbury, and has shared stages with world class live acts like Manu Chao, Bomba Estereo, Novalima, and Calle 13 as well as Chico Trujillo and La Yegros. With the label Movimientos Records he is championing the new generation of producers from and inspired by Latin America.
