Jack and the Boogaloo crew with their monthly dose of worldly vibrations!
Mirroring the musical ethos of their party, Boogaloo’s show aims to showcase music whether it’s new, old, from Liverpool or from around the globe. The main focus of the music will be afro-infused house, techno, disco and beyond.
Now into their fourth year of throwing parties, Boogaloo have brought some incredible line-ups to forward-thinking venues including meraki, 24 Kitchen Street and Phase One. Their vision and choice of acts is guided by a love of afro-infused music, with previous guests including Antal, Detroit Swindle, Awesome Tapes From Africa and much more!
Stepping in for the Boogaloo crews show again, Rob T invites good friend Charlie B to join him b2b for the hour. The Amsterdam based duo channel the energy of Charlies unreleased photography project ‘Avondklok’ (see image tile). Avondklok, the dutch word for curfew, sheds light on the social and political frictions that occurred throughout the Netherlands at the start of this year.
The mix harnesses the same dystopian energy exploring dark, dubby and off-kilter sounds before switching it up and diving into a mixed bag of drill, hip hop and more. Stick around for the last track which has been super cathartic for both of us during these times in lockdown.
