Introducing harpist Amanda Whiting.
From Wales, the home of the harp, Amanda has taken her classical roots and forged them in the path of jazz harpist Dorothy Ashby.
She has toured extensively with Matthew Halsall and the Gondwana Orchestra performing at Jazz festivals around the world. More recent collaborations have included recording with DJ Yoda, Chip Wickham, Nimbus Sextet and Rebecca Vasmant.
In 2020 Amanda was signed to the iconic Jazzman records who released two of her albums, Little Sunflower and self-penned AHerefter Dark. Since the releases, Amanda has been played daily on radio and has been ‘record of the week’ on numerous stations including After Dinner Jazz on Jazz FM and interviewed on Take 5 on BBC2 Jamie Cullum’s The Jazz Show
In 2021, she performed in Manheim with Greg Foat and will be touring in November with Chip Wickham (with a Saturday night at Ronnie Scotts). Her own album will be performed at WeJazz Helsinki at the end of November, making way for her new release in 2022 on Jazzman.
