The 26th Africa Oyé has now sadly passed, but with that comes another full year of radio shows. Celebrating the African diaspora through anecdotes and unheard stage recordings, join Paul Duhaney and his guests each month.
With a blend of recordings from the festival, interviews with artists and organisers, and plenty of guest mixes and live sessions along the way, the show is a reflection on what has happened and what’s to come in the future. Oyé prides itself on being the largest celebration of African music in the UK, beginning life as a programme of live events in venues throughout Liverpool.
This month’s show features Paul Duhaney and Spykatcha diving into music from the modern era which has been inspired by the diaspora of African culture. Stick around as they look back at Oyé 2019 with a mix recorded straight from the DJ Stages at the festival. This mix comes from the wonderful Emily Dust.
