Africa Oyé

The 26th Africa Oyé has now sadly passed, but with that comes another full year of radio shows. Celebrating the African diaspora through anecdotes and unheard stage recordings, join Paul Duhaney and his guests each month.

With a blend of recordings from the festival, interviews with artists and organisers, and plenty of guest mixes and live sessions along the way, the show is a reflection on what has happened and what’s to come in the future. Oyé prides itself on being the largest celebration of African music in the UK, beginning life as a programme of live events in venues throughout Liverpool.

This month Paul sits down with James Zaremba as Spy takes a short break. Join them for the first hour as they take a whistle stop tour of the South American and Caribbean diaspora. In the second hour, DJ Mayeva plays a combination of afro-beats, soca and baile-funk at this year’s Africa Oye festival.
