We’re partnering with Liverpool John Moores University, Open Culture and The Mind Map to broadcast a 30 minute mindfulness meditation session, as part of LJMU’s annual mental health & wellbeing initiative, Feel Fab Feb!
Airing on Melodic Distraction Radio at 08:30 on Monday 27th February, with an introduction to Mindfulness and Meditation, the Meditation will begin at 8.45am.
The meditation will be led by mindfulness teacher Tony Bennett, who is also a PhD researcher in LJMU’s School of Psychology
Tony explains that:
“The half hour will begin with a brief discussion of what mindfulness is and how it can have a positive impact on your life, and how, alongside other activities, it can be an important part of a well-balanced, healthy, and happy lifestyle. We will then guide you through a 15-minute mindfulness meditation focussing on the breath and the body.”
As with all Melodic Distraction Radio shows, the show will be uploaded after it has aired live to be listened to anytime, anywhere – meaning you can benefit from the mindfulness session whenever it suits you.
Mindfulness is a wonderful addition to anyone’s wellbeing toolkit and can help you to be present, calm, clear minded and energised to face the day, and week, ahead.
We want to both thank and highlight the work of The Mind Map and Open Culture for creating and facilitating the idea of this mass meditation session. Click the links below to find out more about these important local organisations, as well as what else is on offer as part of LJMU’s Feel Fab Feb!
