We’re teaming up with one of our favourite partners, BlackFest, to stream a series of live and recorded performances from this year’s festival.
Since we streamed BlackFest last year, we’ve been working closely with the fantastic organisation to capture and broadcast a number of panels, poetry nights and more across the year.
Following the success of our streams last year online and at Constellations, this year we captured a series of performances from their pioneering event Rhythm Night: Lost In Sound, which will go out throughout next week. Join us on both ours and BlackFest’s YouTube and Facebook channel this Monday through till Friday at 6pm, for showcases from local legends MC Nelson, Philly D, Papu Raf, Funk Butcher, Eliza Mai, AMBA and Starkey The Messenger.
In addition to this, tomorrow we’ll be live-streaming their Closing Ceremony Celebration Night at Liverpool’s Philharmonic Hall. Greeting Black History Month with remembrance, celebration, peace and love, the line-up includes community performances and entertainment to celebrate the multicultural city we live in. Artists involved include The Wavertree Community Gospel Choir, Nicaisa Kanga, Curtis Watt Digitz, Naami Jane Soya, Sinead Renaye, Manoka Mbolokele and 5 year old Kiki Lu-Naa Baxter Yakubu. Female DJ collective Girls Don’t Sync will be closing the night, alongside food from Yammtree and our friend Eat Up Gud.
Tune in tomorrow’s evening as we stream the event live from both ours and BlackFest’s YouTube and Facebook channel from 7pm.
