News: Lucy Grey and NIIX launch Dubs Club Liverpool

Dubs Club Liverpool: A super friendly meet-up group designed by women for women and gender minorities to come together and share their electronic music productions.

Launched by North West-based producers and DJs Lucy Grey and NIIX, the first Dubs Club makes its debut at Q U A RR Y, Liverpool on Wednesday 20th April, 19:00 – 21:30. Dubs Club provides a safe space for women and gender minorities to come together to hear their productions through a proper sound system. Regardless of ability, all demos in any form are encouraged to be submitted HERE ahead of the deadline on Monday 18th April, 18:00. Entry is free and the venue is accessible.

Hosts Lucy Grey and NIIX will also be joined by 2 special panelists: Malissa and iamkyami. The guests will share their production process via a session of a previously produced song, before listening to the submitted demos as a group and offering positive critique and encouragement.

Founder of London-based platform for women and non-binary DJs Sisu, Malissa has recently released debut EP ‘Reimagine’ on Ukrainian label система | system. Signing to Heist or Hit last year, iamkyami’s productions have earned her airplay on BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra alongside support slots for Roy Ayres and Yazmin Lacey.

Co-organiser of London’s Anti-Pattern and resident of Melodic Distraction Radio, Lucy Grey has recently emerged onto Liverpool’s electronic music scene. Her boundary-pushing music selections have locked the ears of many, playing across many clubs in the city including The Kazimier and meraki, alongside guest residencies on Marseille’s Ola and Manchester’s Steam Radio.

NIIX’s original electronic pop has earned her radio-play on BBC Introducing Merseyside and NTS, as well as making Spotify’s New Music Friday UK, The Loft and Friday Cratediggers editorial playlists. This summer will see her DJ at Gottwood and Audio Farm Festival, following support slots for the likes of Låpsley and Max Cooper last year.
