This bank holiday weekend, we’re joining forces with Edinburgh-based online radio station EHFM for a radio takeover!
Broadcasting from Edinburgh’s Summerhall since 2018, EHFM was set up as a digital platform for creative souls to express themselves. With a broad programme that operates 24 hours a day/7 days a week thanks to a loving community of presenters and volunteers, you can expect to hear anything from club to Scottish traditional music, spoken word and panel discussions. We’re super excited to welcome a handful of their residents onto our airwaves on Sunday 29th August, for what promises to be a diverse day of radio!
Kicking things off from midday is Sweet Delight, owner of Miss Mobile Disco, Sneaky Pete’s resident, and founding member of all female DJ collective Miss World. As well as her EHFM residency, she has featured with the collective on 1020 Radio, Behind the Decks, and The List’s Top 100 2019.
Next up for an hourly show is Happy House, focusing primarily on post-punk and new wave but unafraid to shine a light on niche micro-genres. Expect a lighthearted and upbeat approach to his show, featuring s – shoutouts and call-ins.
For all things fast, we welcome Volens Chorus to bring their personal flavour of chaos to a mix! They’re energetic selectors who quickly mix across Jersey Club, 4×4 Techno, Hard Drum, GQOM, Dancehall, and Donk, with residencies at Sneaky Pete’s and The Bongo Club.
Bringing things back down a notch is Sad City, a notable electronic producer with previous releases on Huntley and Palmers, Inverted Audio and Stamp The Wax. He currently hosts two shows on EHFM – one dedicated to the broadness of electronic music and another on Highlife, Soukous, and Afrobeat – as well as several guest appearances on Charlie Bones’s Do!! You!!! And Balamii.
Closing proceedings is 170-ish, focussing on Drum and Bass and other pacey genres, with a specific interest showcasing Scottish producers. Co-hosts imo-Lu and WhyTwo produce d’n’b themselves and have seen releases on Hospital Records and Med School Music.
