Midweek Movers #050: Selected by Valérie Ékoumè

Yep, we’re here again! Purgatory, limbo, the netherworld that is the Middle of the Week.

But fear not – this is where we step in with a handful of delightful ditties to fend off those Wednesday woes! So put that coffee cup down, plug your earphones in and take a step outside.

Hand-picked in-house and by our hosts, these tracks have only one common denominator: to release that dopamine. And if you dance hard enough, it’ll soon be Friday…

After a spellbinding performance at Africa Oyé last weekend, we chat to French/Cameroonian singer and VAL2VALPROD label owner, Valérie Ékoumè! Having toured with Manu Dibango as part of The Soul Makossa Gang for 8 years, Valérie’s own music takes inspiration from Afropop and Congolese rumba through to American pop and Cameroonian singers. Listen to more of her influences below, and check out Valérie’s latest album Moné here!
