MDR Staff Picks: LUNA – Hazy Days

As most of you are probably aware, the current Covid-19 crisis has meant that many of us now have a lot of time on our hands. At Melodic Distraction, we saw this as an opportunity to not only put some of this extra time to good use, but to also put it towards another avenue for you folks at home to explore and kill some of that extra time you’ve been looking to fill.

With that in mind, we launched our ‘MDR Staff Picks’ playlist series! With James’ “Brazil 2020” playlist transporting us to Copacabana beach last week, caipirinha in hand, it’s now time for another member of the MDR posse to release their playlist to the world…

Launching their playlist this week is ethereal songstress and MD production homie LUNA. Having released her debut EP “Hello Earth” last month, her wistfully entitled playlist “Hazy Days” offers listeners a behind-the-scenes look into the wider spectrum of her musical tastes. In essence, songs that either inspire her own creative practice or offer her respite and release.

In her own words, LUNA describes her playlist as “Songs that are soundtracking my self-isolation. No particular theme, just tunes that I’m digging from some of my favourite artists through to newly discovered ones. Everything from the crunchy stomping of Against All Logic to a dub remix of Tinariwen!

For your bed, your walk/run, your cooking. In the morning, afternoon or at night.”
