MDR Staff Picks: Joe – Isolation Station

As most of you are probably aware, the current Covid-19 crisis has meant that many of us now have a lot of time on our hands. At Melodic Distraction, we saw this as an opportunity to not only put some of this extra time to good use, but to also put it towards another avenue for you folks at home to explore and kill some of that extra time you’ve been looking to fill.

With that in mind, we launched our ‘MDR Staff Picks’ playlist series! The last five weeks have seen each MDR crew release their own unique playlists, ranging from the Brazilian infused collection put together by James, to the weird and wonderful sounds featured in Lupini’s Hothouse last week. Now, we come to the release of our sixth, and final playlist, courtesy of MDR’s social media guru, Joe Bardsley!

Joe’s been part of the MDR team for a while now, quickly making a name for himself as a cheeky chappy with a passion for guitar based tunes and indie culture. His show “Behind The Daydream” broadcast on the fourth Friday of every month, explores these influences and sounds, and gives a good indication of what to expect from Joe’s “Isolation Station.”

In his own words, Joe describes his playlist as, “A selection of psych fuelled tracks that have kept me ticking over during isolation. Be that work, play or a lil’ bit of both; this is a sneak peek into what I’ve been listening to. Soft and gentle with a little bit of spice thrown in there for your pleasure. Take it easy, slow down and chill to a collection of my sweetest quarantine jams.”
