Lockdown Live Lounge returns with two more concerts from one home to another! We may still be (2 metres) apart, but now more than ever we need to connect with our online communities to bring us together. We hope to do just that this week, with some more fresh talent from around the globe.
Lockdown Live Lounge invites our favourite artists, local and afar, to live-stream a mini gig from their homes. Every Monday and Thursday at 2pm give your ears and eyes a little hug from the freshest talent across the UK. An intimate experience direct from living room to living room, we invite you to sink into our ‘Lockdown Live Lounge’, but from the comfort of your own home. You don’t even have to get dressed to go out!
This week, we’re delighted to welcome Nottingham-born neo-soul pianist, vocalist and songwriter Natalie Duncan into our homes. Formerly signed to Verve Records, Duncan’s musical career has spanned many years. She has performed her own music across London venues, as well as working as a vocalist on iconic DJ Goldie’s live shows with the Heritage Orchestra since 2012, as well as collaborating with him on his own albums.
Duncan has just announced her forthcoming album ‘Free’, a heady mix of neo-soul, R&B and jazz, with the first single ‘Sirens‘ out now. ‘Free’ marks the first release on Goldie’s brand new label ‘Fallen Tree 1Hundred’. The 12-track record collectively explores a second phase of ‘coming of age’ – fearlessly leaving behind a life that could be seen as the easy option and pursuing one that fulfils your soul, regardless of the struggles it may bring up. Duncan cites Robert Glasper, Solange and Frank Ocean as huge influences for this album.
Join us on our Facebook page for Natalie Duncan on Monday 29th June, 2pm.
