The label’s debut release “NYX” comes via label founders Empathy Slow & DaVak.
The title and artwork of this EP are inspired by the sounds of the night. ‘Nyx’ represents the dawn of this beginning. The great Goddess of the night, who emerged as the dawn of creation. As Inflect starts their journey with their first release, the name is not only appropriate, but also very fitting.
The title track “NYX” featuring both DaVaK and Empathy Slow, is a gallivanting chuggy-disco groove, full of resonating acid sounds and jittery percussion. Empathy Slow is up next with ‘Revise’, the second track of the release. This track is a spine-chiller, full of eerie synth stabs and an ominous bassline, suggesting that one should lose yourself to its alluring rhythm.
Finally , DaVak’s “Calling”, the EP’s closer, represents the calling of the night (the awakening of Nyx). The final piece of Inflects’ debut EP layers a multitude of instrumentation including a hauntingly processed vocal, a profound acid line and an evocative guitar riff to create in a concoction of sound that perfectly wraps up a groovy EP.
